What we sell, said plainly
Lupe Oro makes oro laminado jewelry. Materials and finishes vary by piece and selected option. Check the product details before ordering. Our collection includes:
- Gold plated: a layer of gold (14K or 18K depending on the piece) over brass or another base alloy.
- Gold-tone stainless steel: steel with a gold finish.
- Gold finish over base metal: pieces whose plating carries no karat specification. We describe these as "gold tone" and never as gold.
Many pieces use cubic zirconia (CZ), colored enamel or mother of pearl. These are not diamonds or precious stones.
What to expect from gold plating
With daily wear, water, perfume and sweat, gold plating can wear down or darken over time. That is normal for any plated jewelry. Looked after, it lasts far longer.
How to care for your piece
- Put it on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray.
- Take it off to shower, swim, work out and sleep.
- Clean it with a soft dry cloth. No liquids, no cleaning products.
- Store it separately in its pouch, away from other jewelry that could scratch it.
If it wears early
If within the first 30 days you notice discoloration or obvious wear under normal use, write to us with photos at contact@lupeoro.com and we will replace the piece. Details on our returns page.
